Deeeeeeeep turns!!!

Out with MH for the re-opening at KD on Saturday the 1st. Slept in the car overnight (not so bad this week) and woke up to meet Dogg and Kiwi Alex for the first gondola at 8am. Signed in, hiked up to the lift, but unfortunately the guy was still setting up for the day. Only had to wait a couple of minutes before he got things going and we were ready to hike EARLY. With so much pow on the course we had to take a warm-up run before starting though. With that done, we put on the snowshoes and got going. Deep snow meant we had to break some serious trail, but it didn`t really affect the time, as it only took 55 minutes to get to the cornice - unfortunately the peak wasn`t really an option today. Once we had ALL the cameras set up, the ride down was EPIC. Deeeeeeep turns! Headed back to the lodge after that to dry out, before hiking a second time. This time it only took 50 minutes to get back up there, headed skiers right and scored a second set of ridiculous turns. Still stoked for a third, just ran out of partners unfortunately...

After a hard day in the backcountry and further havoc in the Ghetto, MH called it quits for the Sunday, but we still stopped by Nukabira (sunny with fresh snow - so I had to do something!) and I hiked the box in their park (which has just been rebuilt for an event next week, and isn`t looking too bad) for just under an hour. Must have hit it about twenty times, got my boardslides dialed and ended up feeling like I got some riding done for the day.

Unfortunately the skis didn`t get any use this weekend though...
