Three-Day Weekend... Again...

Started the hike at Secret Spot 25B with MH at 8:15am on Friday the 22nd after a freezing night in the car. Didn`t get the temperature, but I did know that I didn`t sleep very well. The climb was tough too as there were patches of crust to get through as well as pow - bit frustrating at times. After about two hours, as we were getting close to the top a crack appeared in a steeper section we were making our way up. Nothing happened but we got out of the way pretty quick, took a break and dug a snow pit. The results weren`t bad, better than last week in fact, but we decided we didn`t need to go all the way to the top just in case. Had a nice line down, but was a bit disappointed to cut the day short, so we headed to Furano for an afternoon session (on the skis) to make up for it. Had some good runs on the skiers left section of the mountain, including one run down Kuma Otoshi - the powder run which is only open for ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes in the afternoon. Tough on skis, but I got all the way down without crashing. Lot of snow coming down too, which was all good for the weekend.

Saturday headed to Kamui and got back on the board. Just realised I could set my UnInc back for powder (man, I`m stupid), and also realised I could do the same for MH`s board (DOUBLE stupid), so we rolled into the parking lot and got on the gondola at 8:30am. Don`t know if they are actually opening before 9am this season, but that`s when we got going anyway. The pow was deep, the boards were ripping and we had a great time riding today, particularly the gondola line - which we SMASHED! Skied here once this season, but it was the first time on the board and with all the snow falling was pretty stoked by the end of the day. First jib session of the season too. Better late than never...

Sunday I gave in to the fact that I was sick (had been trying to cover it up the last couple of days) and just drove back home without stopping anywhere to ride. Probably would have been some pretty sweet powder out there though...
