Secret Spot 25B... Again...

Friday the 15th it was school ski day at the local hill in Churui. In three years this was my first time to come here and it actually turned out to be a pretty cool day. Followed the other teachers` lead when the students were doing their (brutally boring) warmups etc with the two ski instructors (ie the chain-smoking PE teacher and the desk-driving Vice-Principal) and just went skiing. Once they were split into groups (almost two hours later) according to ability, I then joined in and had a pretty good time. Even felt I learnt something too, which was all good. The formation skiing in the afternoon was something I never imagined I would do, but fun nonetheless.

Saturday it was back on the snowboard and out to Secret Spot 25B with Dogg to hit the peak in 2 hours 35. Breaking trail all the way in deep snow was tough and it definitely felt good to get up top. With all the recent snow there were some stability concerns and after a couple of snow pits were dug, we decided to ride down REALLY carefully - which was probably a pretty good decision. Saturday night it was off to the Ghetto for the Rumble. Surprise comeback too...
