Winter Resolutions 10/20

So this wasn`t our first time to hit the OAKWAY INN in MIKAGE...
actually it was our fourth time in four weeks!
But I had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich on Sunday, and it was GOOD.

It was our first time to try the soup curry at SAMA in OBIHIRO though.
I had the Chicken Curry with the Coconut-based soup,
despite thinking it sounded weird.
But... it was AWESOME.
Will definitely be back here...

TWO FACE at SAMA

No-Name Peak 5/2/12 + FUNBE Waves 5/2/12

No-Name Peak Round FOUR. Pretty much the same deal as last week (and the week before that actually...) It was gusting pretty strongly when we got there though, so we took a while to get started - eventually getting going at about 8:45AM. We were quite well-protected hiking through the trees though, but it was DEEEEP so we had to break trail the whole way. Good workout! We hiked for about an hour before strapping in to ride. The snow was a little heavy, so it was a bit hard to get going at first, but we both got a nice line down. Just the one though, we didn`t really feel like another hike in that weather...

Bacon cheeseburger for lunch and then time for a nice surf session back in town. No photos today though...

又日曜日にNO-NAME PEAKに登りました。風が結構強かったけど、森の中のハイキングは大丈夫でした。8時45分に開始して1時間ぐらい登りました。でも雪が深かったのでラッセルしなければなりませんでした！滑りは楽しかったけど、雪がちょっと重くて最初からなかなかスピードがつかなかったです。強風なので、一回で終わりでした。せっかくラッセルしたのに。。。

それから又OAKWAYで食べて帰って来て、海入りました。波はデカくないけど、綺麗だったので楽しかったです！今回写真はないけど。。。

Winter Resolutions 8+9/20

Went to TORIYA in OBIHIRO last Friday night, but... the service was lousy. Enough said...

We did check out Yumoru Kawakita, a hot spring in Memuro though. Good enough. Only 420 yen too.

Macaroni and Cheese with SPAM

No-Name Peak 28/1/12 + FUNBE Waves 28/1/12

Back to No-Name Peak with MHM on Saturday morning after another night in the car... Chilly. First on the mountain though at about 8:40am, except it was COLD today. Windy too. Just hard to get started... but we did... Didn`t go all the way to the top today, as the last ridge (about twenty minutes of hiking) looked a little gnarly. So after an hour or so we strapped in to ride, and it was a pretty sweet ride too - the powder was NICE.

After lunch at Oakway again, we headed home and went straight out to hit the surf. Well I did anyway, snowboarding was enough for MHM and she was happy to just take photos from the car. The waves were pretty sweet though, and it was just me out there as well. Gotta love winter surfing in Hokkaido. Of course, being able to surf and snowboard in the same day is even better!

車泊してから土曜日に又MHMとNO-NAME PEAKに行きました。でも風もあって結構寒かったです。8時40分に開始して１時間ぐらい登りました。最後の尾根は風が強そうだったので上までは行かなかったです。殆ど頂上だったので仕方がないですね。パウダーは勿論良くて滑りは最高でした。バックカントリー大好きです！

又OAKWAYで昼食を食べてから、帰って来て波チェックしました。MHMもうやる気がなくて私だけ入りました。というか貸切でした。北海道の冬サーフィンはいいですね。勿論同じ日にスノーボードとサーフィンが出来て良かったです！
